Areas of Scholarly Expertise and Interest

Dr. Anne Belcher is the Director of the Office for Teaching Excellence at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. She has more than 35 years of experience in nursing education, having taught at the baccalaureate, masters and doctoral levels. She has held numerous academic administrative positions. Dr. Belcher’s area of expertise is oncology nursing and her research interest is psychosocial aspects of cancer, with a focus on spiritual care.

Consultant to nurses in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit conducting "A multiphasic exploratory study to identify factors affecting nursing time spent administering oral nonabsorbable antibiotics in a laminar airflow." 3. Consultant to nurses in the Special Care Unit who conducted a study which resulted in a policy change - "A comparison of two techniques for obtaining partial thromboplastin times: Arterial line vs. venipuncture."
