Funded research, training grants and/or programs

1/09 – 7/09 Gordon Center for Research in Medical Education, Designing and Testing a Comprehensive Cardiovascular Assessment using a Deliberate, Repetitive Practice Curriculum and Simulation; a multi-site study using Harvey the simulator to test cardiovascular assessment and technique of advanced practice nurses.

1/08 – 3/09 American Heart Association, Do We Know Tomorrow What We Know Today? Research on the use of a high fidelity patient simulator in teaching ACLS to an interdisciplinary group of health professionals.

9/07 – 9/12 HRSA federally-funded grant, Developing Faculty Development Institutes to teach faculty about advanced and emerging technologies (consortium of three schools: University of Kansas, University of Colorado, and Indiana University School of Nursing) (Co-PI).

5/07 – 5/10 Fairbanks Foundation, Establishing a Faculty Development Institute to Develop Simulations in Nursing Education (Curriculum Director).
