Areas of Scholarly Expertise and Interest

Clinical Practice: I am the NP coordinator for Preventive Cardiology at Johns Hopkins. The focus of my practice centers on reducing risk factors for coronary heart disease and related events through medication and lifestyle management. Reasearch Interests: My research interests center on the genetics of subclinical atherosclerosis and metabolic syndrome. Specifically, I am investigating the molecular mechanisms of HDL transport in human macrophages. My goal is to expand this research to human macrophages taken from patients with metabolic syndrome to elucidate mechanisms underlying atherosclerosis in this patient population.
