The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing has for the second time in its 23 year history placed in the very top tier of the nation's best nursing graduate schools, in the 2008 U.S. News & World Report:

  • 4th in the Nation among Peer Institutions Rankings in nursing specialties categories:
  • 2nd in Community/Public Health (since 2001)
  • 7th in Nursing Service Administration (up from 10th)

  • 6th in Scholarly Productivity: The "Top Research Universities Faculty Scholarly Productivity Index," published by the Chronicle of Higher Education, ranks schools based on the productivity of each PhD faculty member: books published, journal publications, citations of journal articles, federal-grant dollars awarded, and honors and awards.

  • 6th among Nursing Schools for NIH Funding: receives approximately $7 million per year in research funding.
