Prerequisites - 60 credits/semester hours
All courses should be completed with a B or better.
Natural Sciences - 17-23 cr
- Human or Animal Anatomy and Physiology - 6-8 cr (within the past 5 years)
- Microbiology - 3-4 cr
- Chemistry - 6-8 cr
- Nutrition - 2-3 cr
Humanities - 9 cr
- English, Writing or Composition - 3 cr Literature - 3 cr
- (choose one) Logic, Philosophy, Ethics, Foreign Language, Speech, History of Art or Music, Mathematics - 3 cr
Social Sciences - 15 cr
- Intro to Psychology - 3 cr
- Intro to Sociology - 3 cr
- Human Growth and Development or Developmental Psychology covering the entire lifespan - 3 cr
- (choose two) Anthropology, Economics, Family or Community Sociology, Geography, History, Political Science, or Psychology - 6 cr
Statistics - 3 cr
Should include topics of correlation and linear regression; experimental design such as t-tests, analysis of variance and chi-square. Suggested departments: psychology, sociology, education, biology and mathematics. The departments whose statistics courses are more theory-based and lack the experimental design component are business, management and economics.
Electives - 10-16 cr
Electives may be selected from any academic discipline. Credits in studio or performing arts are not acceptable. Only one physical education course will be accepted.
