Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing

First Degree Option

Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing offers a two-year upper-division Traditional Option leading to a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Nursing. Students transfer to the School of Nursing after successful completion of 60 prerequisite credits at an accredited university or college. The Traditional Option begins in the fall of each year. Typically, a student participating in this option has more time for outside activities including working in a hospital or clinical setting, research, involvement with student interest groups such as student government, sports, etc., or taking additional courses. Students are eligible to pursue an internship/externship or work at a hospital such as Johns Hopkins Hospital, during the summer between their first and second years.
