Articulation Agreements
Many of our articulation agreements allow you to receive two bachelor's degrees from two academic institutions simultaneously within four or five years of study. The first three years of study would be spent fulfilling the general education core curriculum and doing advanced course work in biology or another designated major, at one of the articulation schools in order to complete the prerequisites for entrance into the nursing program at Johns Hopkins University. The last year or two of study would be spent fulfilling the nursing requirements at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. Upon completion of the four or five years, the student will receive a bachelor's degree from both institutions. Students who apply for admission through an articulation agreement may also pursue the Direct Entry to Combined BS to MSN option for students who wish to continue with a graduate degree upon completion of the bachelor's degree in nursing. Students may also transfer to the Johns Hopkins University, School of Nursing after the sophomore year and the completion of the 60 semester hour prerequisite courses. Students who select this option will receive one degree from Hopkins - Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Nursing. COLLEGE OF NOTRE DAME OF MARYLAND is a private, four-year, liberal arts, Catholic college for women. The 58 acre campus is located in a suburban section of Baltimore City and is in close proximity to several colleges where students may cross register, including the Johns Hopkins University, Loyola College, and Towson University to name a few. Approximately 600 students are enrolled and represent a national and international student body. Students spend three years at Notre Dame completing degree requirements and prerequisite courses, followed by the 13.5 month Accelerated baccalaureate option or the 21-month Traditional baccalaureate option at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. Upon successful completion of these studies, students earn two bachelors degrees - one from Notre Dame and one from Johns Hopkins. GETTYSBURG COLLEGE is a highly selective liberal arts college located within 90 minutes of the Baltimore/Washington metropolitan area. Established in 1832, the College has a rich history and is situated on a 220-acre campus with an enrollment of 2,500 students. Applicants may select from either the 3/1, 3/2, 4/1 or 4/2 agreements. Students spend three or four years at Gettysburg College completing requirements and prerequisite courses, followed by the 13.5 month Accelerated option or the 21-month Traditional option at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. Upon successful completion of these studies, students earn two baccalaureate degrees - one from Gettysburg College and one from Johns Hopkins University. JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY School of Arts and Sciences allows students to attend for two years fulfilling the prerequisite courses for transfer into the School of Nursing for the last two years. Johns Hopkins is a four-year, coeducational, privately endowed institution founded in 1876 as the first true American University on the European model. At present there are enrolled approximately 3400 undergraduate students. Students would enroll in the School of Arts and Sciences completing their first two years of studies. JUNIATA COLLEGE is an independent, four-year, coeducational college of liberal arts and sciences, founded in 1876 by members of the Church of the Brethren. This 100-acre campus in Huntingdon lies in the scenic central Pennsylvania Mountains. Almost the entire student body of 1,150 students resides on campus. Juniata is one of only 65 undergraduate institutions listed in the College Research Association of Biologists' Directory. Students spend three years at Juniata completing degree requirements and prerequisite courses, followed by the 21-month Traditional baccalaureate option at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. LOYOLA COLLEGE IN MARYLAND is the ninth oldest among the nation's 28 Jesuit colleges and universities. Founded in 1852, the college is the second oldest chartered college in Baltimore, Maryland. It comprises the College of Arts and Sciences and the Sellinger School of Business and Management, and offers undergraduate, graduate and professional development programs. Students pursuing the field of nursing at Loyola College can choose either a 3-1 or 3-2 articulation program with the School of Nursing at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. The articulated program allows students to spend three years at Loyola College where they complete the degree requirements and prerequisite courses followed by either one or two years at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. For Hopkins, students choose either the 13.5 month Accelerated baccalaureate option or the Traditional 21 month option for the nursing component. Upon completion of these studies, students earn two bachelors degrees from both Loyola College of Maryland and the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. MOUNT HOLYOKE COLLEGE is an independent, four-year liberal arts institution for women located in the Connecticut River Valley of Massachusetts. Mount Holyoke College is the oldest continuing institution for higher education for women in the United States. It is located on 800 acres of rolling lawns, trees and lakes in the New England town of South Hadley, 90 miles west of Boston. Students spend three years at Mount Holyoke completing degree requirements and prerequisite courses, followed by the 21-month Traditional baccalaureate option at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. MT. SAINT MARY'S UNIVERSITY is the oldest independent Catholic college in the United States and was founded in 1808. It is a four-year, coeducational, liberal arts institution. The 1,400-acre campus located in Emmitsburg, Maryland, is twelve miles south of the famed Civil War battlefield at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and within a 45-minute drive from Baltimore, Maryland. Students spend three years at Mt. RANDOLPH COLLEGE was founded as Randolph-Macon's Women's College in 1891, and has since become co-educational as of 2007. Randolph College is an independent, four-year, liberal arts college affiliated with the Methodist Church. 700 students from 38 states and 16 foreign countries reside on the 100-acre campus located in a residential area of Lynchburg in the foothills of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains. Students may cross register with Lynchburg College and Sweetbriar College.
