MASTER'S PROGRAMS
Health Systems Management:
Emergency Preparedness/Disaster Response

Nurses have pivotal roles in the planning for and organizational management of large numbers of patients in the event of a disaster or mass casualty incidents. This Master�s option is designed to prepare nurses to assume managerial and leadership roles in planning for and coordination of emergency preparedness / disaster response strategies in settings that include hospitals, nursing homes ambulatory centers, military/government agencies and integrated health care systems. Graduates of the program will also be prepared to assume leadership roles in the education of first responders, first receivers and institutional staff.

The Johns Hopkins University, School of Nursing offers both a Master of Science in Nursing and a Post-Master�s Certificate in this focus. December 1 � for spring entry
May 1 � for summer entry

The application and all supporting documentation must be received by the deadlines listed above. However to be given consideration for a Merit Scholarship Award, you must be accepted for admission by March 1. Please note that on average it takes the Admissions Committee approximately one month to reach a decision upon receipt of a completed application.
