How Peace Corps service influenced decision to go into nursing and future plans:
I planned to go to nursing school even before Peace Corps became an option. I was taking pre-requisite courses while working at the state mental health facility in Madison, WI. My health-related work in Botswana only solidified and reinforced my aspirations. I was delighted to hear of my acceptance to the JH accelerated program last year, as I worked on my final pre-req classes. My healthcare field passions include: women''s health, pro-active steps to healthy living like good diet and exercise, helping people realize the benefits before band-aid solutions are necessary, in other words, public health.
