Fees and Tuition
Application:
Students interested in the undergraduate, master’s and certificate
programs must pay a $75 fee when submitting an application for admission.
The doctoral fee is $100.
Deposit:
A nonrefundable $500 deposit is due from all accepted applicants. ($200
deposit for Hopkins Business of Nursing students.)
Early decision candidates will be required to submit the deposit upon
acceptance. The deposit will be credited to the student's account.
MasterCard and Visa are accepted.
Matriculation:
A fee of $500 is payable on or before the date that a student enters the
School of Nursing as a regular matriculated degree candidate. Special
students who later become degree candidates will be assessed the
matriculation fee at that time.
Tuition Payment:
Tuition for the upcoming semester must be paid one month before the first
day of classes for incoming undergraduate and graduate students. Special
students must pay at time of registration. MasterCard and Visa are accepted.
Alternate payment plans may only be arranged 30 days prior to the start of
the semester.

Student Health Insurance:
All matriculated students must be covered by a current health insurance
plan. The University will provide information about its student health
insurance plan for students who are not covered under another plan.
Students who do not purchase the university insurance must provide proof of
enrollment in a comparable plan each semester.
Books:
Cost for books, supplies and uniforms for Traditional undergraduate
students is approximately $500 per term. These costs are based on averages
and may vary.
Supplies:
Undergraduate students must purchase a number of supplies including
uniforms and a stethoscope. Students enrolled in nurse practitioner programs
should expect to purchase some diagnostic equipment during the first year.
University-Owned Apartment Buildings:
Rates are determined on an apartment-by-apartment basis.
Late Registration:
A student who for any reason does not complete his or her registration
until after the prescribed registration period will be required to pay a
late registration service fee before that registration may be finalized by
the registrar. Information about what constitutes late registration and the
applicable fee will be included in registration materials which are
distributed by the Registrar's Office.
Late Fees:
The University assesses a 1.50% per month late fee charge on the unpaid
balance for any student whose account is in arrears. Students who have
unpaid balances from a previous semester will not be allowed to register for
subsequent semesters. Fees associated with delinquent accounts sent to
collections will be passed on to the student.
Transcript/Diplomas:
There is no charge for transcripts. No transcript will be released if the
student has an unpaid account balance. Diplomas will not be released to
students with unpaid student account balances.
Miscellaneous Fees:
Graduation Fees:
Cap and gown rentals for the graduation ceremony held annually in May are
approximately $25 for undergraduate students and $45 for graduate students
(includes hood).
State Board Licensure Examination Fees:
The Maryland State Board examinations for registered nurse licensure are
offered regularly throughout the year. The fee for the Maryland State Board
is $75 at this time, and the fee for the National Council Licensure
examination is $200 at this time. The Office of Admissions and Student
Services provides all the necessary registration forms for students wishing
to take the examination in Maryland. Students who plan to take the
examination in another state should contact the appropriate nursing board
office for registration forms.
Challenge Exam Fees:
Registration materials for Regents College Examinations are available in the
Office of Admissions and Student Services. Students should apply directly to
Regents College Examinations and are responsible for any fees involved.
Returned Check Fee:
A $25 service fee will be assessed for any returned check.
