2007-2008 Annual Coursebook
WEB STUDENT SERVICES
ISIS (Integrated Student Information System) is here! ISIS will now be the
system you will use for grade look-up, address changes, and registration. It is
very user-friendly, and includes some new features that were not available in
our legacy system!
To login, you will need your JHED lid and password.
A JHED login ID (or "LID") is a unique identifier for your information in the
JHU Enterprise Directory. All students are automatically assigned a LID upon
enrollment. You can use your LID to gain remote access to a number of JHU
services, such as financial aid and billing, and now registration.
If you don't know your login ID, please go to the JHED site at
http://jhed.jhu.edu
to look yourself up by name and do a "first-time login" to obtain a password.
You may access ISIS via the My Student Records link on the SON Intranet, or
via this website: https://isis.jhu.edu.
Address Changes/Emergency Contacts
On the toolbar, click on the Personal Info dropdown
- Select “Summary” to verify/change your addresses and phone numbers
- Select “Emergency Contact” to verify/change the individual(s) we should
contact on your behalf in case of emergency
Academic Information
Holds may be placed on your ability to register, most commonly for
outstanding student balances, health compliance issues, or clearance from your
advisor. If you see the word “Alerts” in red above the toolbar, please
click on that link and review. All holds must be resolved before you may
register.
If you have more than one matriculation at the SON, please be sure to select
the appropriate one from the dropdown labeled “I am: Student of” just above the
toolbar before proceeding.
On the toolbar, click on the Academic Info dropdown
- Select Program of Study to view your current program and advisor
- Select My Waitlist Classes to view any courses for which you might be
waitlisted
- Select My Class Schedule to view your courses for the current term
- Select My Grades to view all terms and grades for this matriculation
- Select Search for Classes to find classes and start the registration
process
- Select Registration – Add/Drop to add and drop classes
- Select My Cart to view courses in the cart and register for them
You may add one course at a time, or you may add all of your courses for a
term to the cart and register for them all at once. Please remember to click the
Select checkbox to the right of each course before you click the Add
to Cart button, or the Register button, or the Drop Class
button. It is important to note that adding courses to the cart does not
officially register you in those classes.
To view additional information about a course, click on the link on the
course number in the Course ID (Section) column.
Once you have completed all transactions, please click on the ‘logout’ link
on the right above the toolbar and close your browser.
A few notes:
Most
courses have an established number
of credits. However, there are a few
that are offered for variable
credit, such as 100.422 (2-3
credits). The number of credits is
linked to specific requirements for
the course. If you opt to register
for one of these courses, please be
prepared to enter this information
when you register.
If you
are registering for a course that
has both an undergraduate and
graduate version, such as 100.491
and 100.591, please register only
for that version in which you wish
to be enrolled.
If you
wish to register for Independent
Studies (e.g., NR100.399, 100.499)
and/or interdivisional courses,
please come to the Registrar’s
Office to do so. These courses will
not be available for enrollment via
the web.
The
system will typically be available
24/7 for registration during
registration and add/drop. The
Academic Calendar, published in the
SON coursebook and on the SON
website, provides information
regarding dates for registration.
The
most up-to-date version of the
schedule of classes is accessible
from the SON homepage via this path:
Academics>Registrar>Annual
Coursebook>Course listings.
NAME CHANGES
If your name is legally changed while enrolled as a student, the Registrar’s
Office should be notified as well. Official documentation, such as a copy of a
marriage license, divorce decree, or other court order is required to process a
name change.
