Tuition Rates for the 2014 - 2015 Academic Year

Listed below are the estimated costs (in U.S. dollars) for each program. Indirect expenses are estimates based on average costs. Actual costs may vary. For planning purposes, a 3% increase should be anticipated each year. 

Tuition for the upcoming semester must be paid one month before the first day of classes for incoming bachelor's, master's, and doctoral students. Special students must pay at time of registration. MasterCard, Visa, and Discover Card are accepted. Alternate payment plans may only be arranged 30 days prior to the start of the semester. A $40-per-semester charge will be assessed for this service.

Accelerated BS-MSN with Paid Clinical Residency Program

Tuition and Other Costs

Once the student completes the bachelor’s portion of the program he/she will incur expenses for the part-time MSN program.  In this program each student will be completing a paid clinical residency while completing a part-time master’s program. 

Tuition reimbursement may be available from the hospital providing the clinical residency. Figures below are projections for the bachelor's portion of the program and are subject to change based on date of enrollment into the MSN program.

Courses cost $350 per credit.

Payment should be made at the time of registration through credit card or check. Contact the Student Accounts Office at 410-955-1243 to make arrangements for payment.

Application

Students interested in the bachelor's, master’s, and post-degree certificate options must pay a $75 fee when submitting an application for admission. The doctoral fee is $100.

Deposit

A nonrefundable $500 deposit is required of all students accepted for admission. The deposit will be credited to the student’s account. MasterCard and Visa are accepted.

Matriculation

A fee of $500 is payable on or before the date that a student enters the School of Nursing as a regular matriculated degree candidate. Special students who later become degree candidates will be assessed the matriculation fee at that time.

Self-Service Internet Student Information System

Johns Hopkins University offers students online student account information through Student Billing Self-Service (ISIS). ISIS allows students to view their account, make online payments, and update information related to their student accountis. 

ISIS is also the official means of generating tuition bills to School of Nursing students. Paper bills will no longer be mailed to enrolled students. New students receive a one-time paper bill and instructions to activate their ISIS self-service account. The self-service system will automatically send an email notification to the student’s school email address when a new bill is ready to be viewed online. Start using ISIS

Student Health Insurance

All matriculated students must be covered by a current health insurance plan. The University provides information about its student health insurance plan for students who are not covered under another plan. Students who do not purchase the University insurance must provide proof of enrollment in a comparable plan each semester. All full-time matriculated students will pay a $450 annual health services fee and have unrestricted access to all services at University Health Services.

Part-time students may pay $450 per year to access these services.

Supplies

Bachelor's students must purchase a number of supplies including uniforms, a stethoscope, and an aneroid, adult-size blood pressure cuff. Students enrolled in nurse practitioner options should expect to purchase some diagnostic equipment during the first year.

Late Registration

Students who for any reason do not complete registration until after the prescribed registration period are required to pay a $50 late-registration service fee before being finalized by the registrar. Information about what constitutes late registration and the applicable fee is included in registration materials distributed by the Registrar’s Office.

Late Fees

The University assesses a 1.50% per month late fee charge on the unpaid balance for any student whose account is in arrears. Students who have unpaid balances from a previous semester will not be allowed to register for subsequent semesters. Fees associated with delinquent accounts sent to collections will be passed on to the student.

Transcripts/Diplomas

There is no charge for transcripts. No transcript will be released if the student has an unpaid account balance. Diplomas will not be released to students with unpaid student account balances.

Graduation Fees

Regalia fees for the graduation ceremony held annually in May are approximately $36 for baccalaureate students, $77 for graduate students, and $80 for doctoral students.

State Board Licensure Examination Fees

The Maryland State Board examinations for registered nurse licensure are offered regularly throughout the year. The current fee for the Maryland State Board is $100, and the current fee for the National Council Licensure examination is $200. The Office of Student Services provides all the necessary registration forms for students wishing to take the examination in Maryland. Students who plan to take the examination in another state should contact the appropriate nursing board office for registration forms.

Returned Check Fee

A $25 service fee will be assessed for any returned check.
