NR110.305 Issues in Aging
Description: This course is designed to introduce the beginning nursing student to the aging process and to facilitate positive attitudes toward healthy aging. The beginning nursing student will learn about current issues that promote successful aging, including: aging demographics; views of aging, myths and stereotypes; theories of aging; common age-related changes and health implications; and promoting the health of older adults across the continuum. Course activities are designed to enhance the student's critical thinking as it relates to a holistic approach to promoting health and independence in older adults. Pre/Corequisite: NR 110.303
