NR110.495 Complementary and Alternative Medicine in Health Care
Description: This course will familiarize health care professionals with 4 (5) categories of complementary/alternative health care (medicine) identified by the National Institutes of Health, National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM). Within these categories students will explore leading non-traditional therapeutic alternatives that consumers and health providers are using today. These modalities/therapies are examined through latest research, guest practitioner presentations, films, student presentations, group discussion, and experiential sessions. The course will also focus on facilitating the development of students to become holistic health nurses.
