Course Withdrawal Policy

No notation is made on the academic record for a course withdrawal before or by the meeting date of 50% of the scheduled classes. The signature of the academic advisor is required.

After 50% and through 70% of the scheduled classes that have met, the signatures of the course instructor, faculty advisor and the appropriate Program Director, or the PhD Program Director, are required to withdraw from a class. A "W" is recorded on the transcript.

After 70% of the scheduled classes have met, the signatures of the course instructor, the academic advisor, and the appropriate program director are required to withdraw from a class. The course instructor will note on the form whether the student is at that time receiving a passing grade for the course. The determination will be based on the grade(s) achieved for all test(s) and other graded requirements that are due on or before that date. A "WP" (Withdraw Passing) or "WF" (Withdraw Failing), as appropriate, is recorded on the transcript.
