Hello,

October is coming to a close and so with it, the first seven weeks of clinicals. There are seven weeks left in this term and then a much needed “scheduled” break for the Holidays. (Everything is nursing school is about schedules and deadlines….some of the instructors actually possess a stopwatch…it can be quite entertaining). The idea of spending quality time with family, friends and nothing to do (for at least a day or two) seems a bit far off in the distance. This didatic marathon will at some point end, as evidenced by the students who have graduated before us. The journey from the race will continue to lead us in a direction and move us forward and upward into the realm of further nursing career development. The return of a somewhat ” normal” life that does not include careplans, exams, sleep deprivation, or “scheduled time” for those many” projects” and “papers” that come with each course will be a welcome change. The humor in nursing school however is never too far out of reach. When you need a good laugh, there is always a moment when you can get together with some friends for some sanity relief, reflect on those very special moments that are so endearing with professors or ….well…you can imagine… and laugh until the tears are streaming down your face. Laughter is a wonderful healing science for stress and it does not come with a tuition bill or price tag. Have a great day and for me I am squeezing some work time into my “schedule” at the Emergency Room for a healthy dose of reality and of course….some extra money!

Take care and thank you for visiting the site!
