Office of Global Nursing

• Office of Global Nursing (OGN): coordinates and supports international activities for Johns Hopkins Nursing, and is an invaluable part of the Institute for Johns Hopkins Nursing.

Examples of OGN activities include facilitating the international education of nursing students, providing support to global nursing research initiatives, encouraging international nursing practice projects, and assisting with global outreach efforts. OGN also works closely with other Johns Hopkins entities to provide consultation services, educational programs, and site visits to nurses and health care organizations worldwide. The OGN's rich resources include:

• Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization Collaborating Center for Knowledge and Information Management and Sharing
  Located at the School of Nursing, and co-directed by Dean Martha Hill and Assistant Professor Patti Abbott, the Center explores technological methods of sharing knowledge between nurses. Through the Center, information is delivered into the hands of those who care for patients around the globe, whether they are in an urban setting or in the bush of sub-Saharan Africa.

• Johns Hopkins Center for Global Health
  A unique collaboration between three institutions at Johns Hopkins--the Bloomberg School of Public Health, the School of Medicine, and the School of Nursing--that harnesses the expertise of its dedicated health and medical professionals to address a myriad of global health challenges: HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, malnutrition, hepatitis and other threats to health, especially in developing countries.
