Nursing Director Offers Words of Wisdom to New Nurses
Judith RohdeThe Johns Hopkins Hospital SPRING Program is a year-long internship program to support new graduate nurses in their transition to their first professional RN role. A celebration for interns who had completed their year in the program was held at the SON in September with keynote speaker Dr. Judith Rohde, Director of Nursing for Neurosciences and Psychiatric Nursing. Her words of wisdom for the new nurses:

  • In an emergency, take your own pulse first! Learn to take care of yourself so you can better help others.
  • Cherish your nursing competencies and skills.
  • Foster relationships with other health care professionals.
  • Listen to your patients and make them your center.
  • Keep your sense of humor and your perspective
