Dean
Anne Belcher, PhD, RN, AOCN, FAAN has been selected for fellowship in
the
NLN Academy of Nursing Education. This
inaugural group of inductees was chosen on the basis of presenting sound
evidence of enduring and substantial contributions to nursing education,
visionary leadership in nursing education, and relating their contributions to
nursing education to the mission and goals of the NLN. Belcher will participate
in the Academy Induction Ceremony held in conjunction with the NLN Submit Awards
Banquet on September 29 in Phoenix, AZ.

Associate Professor Nancy Glass, PhD,
MPH, RN has been named an Ambassador in
Research!America's Paul G. Rogers Society for
Global Health Research. Glass is now one of
50 of the nation's foremost global health
experts who have joined forces to increase
awareness about the critical need for greater
U.S. public and private investment in research
to improve global health.
Instructor Janice Hoffman, PhD, RN has
been appointed to the Maryland State Board of
Spinal Cord Injury Research. She will be sworn
in on September 7th in Annapolis.
Associate Professor Joan Kub,
PhD, APRN, BC earned her MA in Theology
from the Ecumenical Institute at St Mary's
University was elected to the Board of Directors
of ACHNE
(Association of Community Health Nursing
Educators). Our tipster Marguerite Baty says "I
thought it was pretty impressive and showed
great initiative and fortitude, seeing as she
already has her doctorate in Public Health."
Associate Professor and Director of the PhD
Program Marie Nolan, PhD, RN
has been elected to the board of the
International Network for Doctoral Education in
Nursing.
Cynda
Hylton Rushton, PhD, RN, FAAN,
associate professor and program director of the
Harriet Lane Compassionate Care Program, was one
of five alumni inductees to the University of
Kentucky College of Nursing's first Hall of
Fame. This highest honor of the college
identifies distinguished graduates and their
extraordinary contributions to the nursing
profession.
Clinical Instructor JoAnne
Silbert-Flagg, MS, CPNP, IBCLC, RN, has
been accepted into the Doctor of Nursing
Practice (DrNP) Program at Columbia University
School of Nursing. Dean Martha Hill noted, "She
has a passion for improving patient health that
she imparts to her students...It is always a
pleasure to work with faculty who frequently go
above and beyond what is required in their
role."
Associate Professor Julie
Stanik-Hutt, PhD, ACNP was
selected for participation in the 2007 American
Association of Colleges of Nursing
Leadership for Academic Nursing Program.
The 2007 Leadership Fellows will participate in
an intensive week-long executive leadership
seminar and in multiple mentored professional
development and strategic networking activities
designed to develop leadership skills for
nursing programs.
