Biostatistics Consulting Services

Statistical support is available for Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing (JHUSON) faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and students. This includes assistance with statistical aspects of grant proposal preparation, research study design, determination of sample size, randomization, data management, statistical modeling, data analysis and interpretation, and statistical software assistance. Inquiries at any stage of a study are welcome. However, consultation during the planning stage is recommended and preferred. All statistical consultation requests are managed by JHUSON Biostatistician Matt Hayat, PhD. Once you submit an online request form, Dr. Hayat will oversee your consultation to be sure your request is handled in a timely manner, with attention to detail, and of a quality of service that meets the JHUSON standard of excellence. Some projects may be handled by statistical support staff under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Hayat. He will work closely with Biostatistics Consulting Service team members to assure you receive appropriate and adequate support.

In order to better serve your consultation needs, please complete the online statistical consultation request form. A completed request form is required before an appointment can be scheduled. It is also requested that the researcher share relevant study background materials prior to the initial consultation. After you have submitted an online form, you will be contacted to schedule a meeting.

Other Information
Short term assistance is provided as a free service to JHUSON researchers. This may include a one-time consultation or a series of meetings. However, in cases where more extensive long term statistical assistance is required, additional funding may be needed to cover additional time and support.

Assistance with statistical aspects of grant proposal writing is available. In cases of substantial contribution, it may be possible and/or appropriate to include the biostatistician as a co-investigator or consultant in your proposal.
