About the CCIR
The CCIR acts as a catalyst to stimulate research alliances. Through start-up funding to three pilot studies each year and the provision of centralized resources, the center enhances the multidisciplinary network of the Johns Hopkins University Schools of Nursing, Public Health, and Medicine, and the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
As outlined in the center's conceptual model, the CCIR serves three key functions:
-
Provides an infrastructure
to facilitate collaborative intervention research among investigators in nursing and other health-related science disciplines.
-
Creates synergy
and facilitates the development of nurse scientists by providing research training, resources, and mentoring from experts.
-
Supports interdisciplinary collaborations
to facilitate the development, testing, and evaluation of cost-effective interventions to improve patient-centered care and health outcomes, including health-related quality of life for individuals, families, and communities.
