Our Administrative Core Faculty Schematic Overview shows how the faculty contribute to the overall structure of the center.

Q. Who are the Core Faculty?

A. Core Faculty is faculty from the partnering institutions carefully selected because of their expertise. They are an integral component of the infrastructure of the Center on Health Disparities Research (see List of Core Faculty).

Q. How are Members Appointed?

A. Appointments are based on faculty status and knowledge of health disparities. Any faculty interested in becoming a member of the Core Faculty can contact the Center on Health Disparities Research.

Q. What is the Role of the Core Faculty?

A. The Core Faculty will serve as mentors for junior faculty and/or students and participate in educational and research activities.

Q. How will Core Faculty members benefit from Center Involvement?

A. Continuing the mission of the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing to improve health and health care by educating nurses, Core Faculty members will have: 1) involvement in setting the standards for nursing care in the area of health disparities research 2) high priority in utilizing the Center research support cores 3) opportunities to participate in Center-sponsored collaborative activities with the partnering institution and 4) opportunity to apply for research funding.

Q. How Often Should Core Faculty Communicate with the Center on Health Disparities Research?

A. Core Faculty will meet at least once annually by face-to-face meeting and other meetings to be arranged regarding Center activities.
