The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing and North Carolina A&T State University School of Nursing created a strong partnership that complements each other in a way that facilitates the successful achievement of Center goals.

The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, which has nationally recognized strength in nursing intervention studies, is the majority institution participating in the Center on Health Disparities Research. The faculty has strong interest in research and clinical practices related to disparities of underserved and vulnerable populations, specifically in the areas of domestic violence, health promotion and disease prevention, symptom management.

The North Carolina A&T School of Nursing with its local, regional, and nationally recognized strength in the recruitment and retention of minority students, faculty. and research scholars is the minority serving institution. The faculty members are known for their knowledge of and their work with underserved populations, who have experienced health disparities in access to healthcare, processes of care, and outcomes of health care.
