The main objective of the Global Health Promotion Research Program is to encourage students to pursue biomedical and biobehavioral research that addresses health disparities between minority and majority populations in the U.S. and developing countries.

Program Phases

  • Phase I: Planning/Assessment, Student Selection, Research Program Development

  • Phase II: Student Preparation for Foreign Research Experience

  • Phase III: Biomedical and Biobehavioral International Research Experience

  • Phase IV: Re-entry, Debriefing and Evaluation

Application Process

If you are interested in a summer research experience abroad under the supervision of U.S. and foreign research faculty and can demonstrate a dedication and interest in addressing health disparities in the U.S. and abroad, please pick up an application packet from the following office.
