Increase Your Research Knowledge & Experience
Through firsthand experience, learn about biomedical, clinical, and/or biobehavioral research methodologies; research ethics; and cultural aspects affecting the production of scientific knowledge.

Develop Relationships with Mentors
Receive mentorship and counseling regarding your research career, especially  research addressing health disparities, from outstanding US and foreign scientists.

Enhance Scientific and Intercultural Skills
Through international exposure, students are able to expand cultural perspectives and thus learn to effectively function as a scientist in multi-cultural and global environments. Students will:

  • Learn different ways of thinking.
  • Write and present a comprehensive scientific literature review paper.
  • Graduate students may conduct multi-site research, present at scientific conferences, and publish scientific articles.

Award Provisions:
