Research Policies
Scientific Misconduct Policy
Anyone involved in sponsored projects at the School of Nursing should
understand and practice responsible conduct of research.
Policy on Retention of Research Data and Materials
The Johns Hopkins University Research Administration has implemented
this policy to protect the researcher and the university, while providing
clarity governing the retention of research data.
Export Control Policy
Although the research projects conducted at Johns Hopkins are
primarily fundamental due to the university's requirements for unrestricted
dissemination and open access by everyone regardless of race, religion, or
citizenship, Hopkins faculty, staff, and students in all departments and
laboratories must understand their responsibilities in regard to these laws
and comply with their standards when deemed appropriate.
Conflict of Interest Policy
Appointment to the faculty of The Johns Hopkins University School
of Nursing (JHUSON) carries the responsibility of directing one's principal
professional effort and energy to the objectives of the School through
teaching, research, practice and service. The faculty recognizes its
obligation to report extramural professional activities annually and to seek
prior review and approval of proposed extramural professional activities,
which may present possible conflicts of interest or commitment with
responsibilities to the University.

Johns Hopkins Research Administration
The Administration of Research at Johns Hopkins is a part of the
culture of our institution. As such, it is accomplished in every department
by a multitude of professionals. Formal
Research Administration Offices in each school and in the Provost's
Office handle daily sponsored projects grants, contracts and other
activities. In addition, an interdivisional research services team and a
research information team both located in the
Provost's RPA Office, provide services on a University-wide level. The
Provost's RPA Office also manages the University-wide research-related
Policies and Regulations.
Public Access Policy
Anyone funded by NIH, including subcontracts, are required to know,
understand and comply with this policy on publications resulting from NIH
funds.
